We are gearing up for an April 29 kick off to the season. The AffinityPlex will be used throughout the Spring/Summer Season along with our regular outdoor fields.  The regular season will run from April 29th and end July 25th.   Coed Playoffs will be July 26th-28th. Men’s, Women’s, Masters playoffs will run July 29th-August 8th(there will be no games on the August long weekend).  Please note that playoffs may not fall on regular league days dependent on the number of teams in the division. The intention of having an earlier than usual kick off to the Summer season is to move towards better aligned seasons.  We look to kick off the 2024 Fall Season September 6th with regular season ending November 17th with Playoffs in early December.  There is a possibility that we could have the Coed Playoffs November 15-17th then run Men’s, Women’s, Masters, and Legends December 8-20th.   Winter Season will run January 3rd and wrap up before WCP.

There will be one part to the outdoor season.  There will be 15 regular league games followed by playoffs.

Minimum Roster Requirements for Full Field divisions is fifteen and Half Field divisions is twelve.

Men’s Division 1 and Division 2 will play 11v11 format on the full field. All other Divisions will play 9v9 on a half field. Full field will play 2-40-minute halves with a 3-5 minute half-time.  Half field will play 2-30-minute halves with a 3-5 minute half-time.

Significant Changes

    • We will return to the five scratches per league registered in for guest playing. There will be a question in the registration process asking if you are interested in guest playing. Player cards will be made for those who answer yes.  If you do not select this option and would like to guest play email adult@fcregina.com and include your name and the team or teams that you are registered with.  The unlimited scratches came into play during covid and after careful evaluation, we have found that it is taking guest playing opportunities away from players who would like to use their 5 scratches, it is impacting league standings, and is having a negative effect on the league financially.  In the 2023 Fall season alone, there were nearly 100 players who guest played 5 or more times.  Players who are interested, can purchase additional scratches.  The cost is $50 for 5 scratches.  To purchase, send an email request to adult@fcregina.com.  The package will be added to your member account so that you can log in to submit payment.  Once completed a card will be processed for you to pick up (cards will only be printed during regular business hours).
    • The Guest Player rule will continue that you can only use permit players to replace a player on your roster.  Players who are not attending a game will be crossed off and you will be able to have a player sub in their place (within the eligibility guidelines).  If the player who was crossed off were to come late and a permit player has already played in the game, the registered player cannot play.  We will return to maximum of five guest players per game for outdoor season.
    • The (RE)Discover Pass is intended for new players (anyone who has not played with FC Regina since January 1, 2022) or players who are returning from injury. (Re)Discover Pass players do not have to replace a player on your roster to be eligible to play.  They can be in addition to your regular roster.  The cost for the (Re)Discover pass is $133.25. If a player decides to register for the remainder of the season once they have played their 5 games, the Insurance/Admin fee would be deducted from the registration fee.
    • We have set registration up so that if you choose installment payments it is set up in 4 payments. Initial payment is due at the time you register.  The remaining payments are set up for April, May, and June 15th. Installment payments can only be set up for online payments. There will not be any exceptions.
    • Effective immediately, the option to select cash as a payment method is no longer available. This adjustment has been implemented to ensure a streamlined and efficient registration experience for all participants. The rationale behind this modification is to discourage incomplete registrations and ensure that all players have submitted their payment before being officially assigned. It is imperative to note that registration will be deemed incomplete until payment is received, and players will not be assigned to their respective teams until this requirement has been fulfilled. We believe that this alteration will contribute to a more organized and hassle-free registration process.
    • For individuals registering in more than one league, we are pleased to introduce the "Multi-Team Discount" promo code. This code is specifically designated for members who are genuinely registered in two or more leagues. Please be advised that the use of this promo code is subject to eligibility criteria. It is essential that you only apply the "Multi-Team Discount" promo code if you are legitimately registered in two or more leagues. Utilizing this code incorrectly, such as applying it without meeting the eligibility requirements, may result in a suspension of your registration until the issue is resolved.
    • We are offering a Masters and Legends division.  You must be 35 years old to play Masters and 45 years old (40 years old for goal keepers only) to play Legends.  You can play both if you meet the age requirement.
    • Master’s players will now be able to guest play in Men’s Division 3 and Coed Division 3 and up. This will not impact those players who normally register in Masters and Men’s 4, 5 or 6.  This is specific to guest players and players who prior to the start of the 2024 Summer season played Men’s 3 or above.  After review and much discussion, it was found that there was a significant impact on the lower-level divisions when Masters players were guest playing.
    • Tie Breaking Rules: If two (2) or more teams amass an equal number of points the following tie-breaking procedures, in the following order, shall be used in order to determine the final standing: 1) Goal Difference - Goal difference shall be calculated by subtracting goals conceded from goals scored. A maximum difference of 5 shall be awarded in each game. 2) Previous Match Results - the winner of the match between two teams tied in points shall be awarded the higher position. 3) Least Goals Against-The team having the fewer number of goals against will be awarded the higher position. 4) Most Goals Scored - The team having scored the most goals will be awarded the higher position. A maximum of five goal difference per game 5) Penalty Kicks - If two or more teams are still tied under criteria 1 - 4, then the higher standings shall be decided by kicks taken from the penalty mark as outlined by the FIFA Law of the Game. A time and place will be decided upon by FCR. Playoff games that are tied at the end of regulation time will be decided by kicks from the mark.
